Today marks an exciting milestone for RFOcean, our ship management subsidiary Miklagard S Ship Management SA, and our partners with the delivery of RF Ran from Wuhu Shipyard.
RF Ran is a 6,750 DWT stainless steel Ice 1A chemical tanker and the first vessel in a new innovative series. The vessel represents the transition from vision to reality, delivering improved efficiency, technological innovation, and a greener footprint for the regional chemical tanker market.
The vessel features a pioneering diesel‑electric propulsion system for chemical tankers, where the propeller is driven by an electric motor. In addition, RF Ran is ready and partly fitted for the future use of e‑methanol as fuel, which we believe will play an important role in the European regional market from 2030 onwards.
